How we will use information about you? At Eurolease we take your privacy seriously. We will use your information in a number of ways which will help us;

Your personal data, what we need and why we need it Under the General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’) and Data Protection Act 2018 (‘DPA’) Eurolease will be known as the data ‘controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. When we are acting on behalf of a lender, we may also be their ‘data processor’. We typically collect the following type of data but not exclusive to this list; Name / Address / Date of Birth / Contact Details / Financial Status / Identification

We require your personal information for the purposes of assessing your application and for ongoing account management. Under GDPR and DPA the lawful basis of Eurolease processing your personal data is that it is necessary for you entering into a credit agreement and it is in our own legitimate interests to process your financial data for this purpose.

What we do with it All the personal data we use is controlled by us however for the purposes of IT hosting, security and maintenance, this information is stored in the cloud by our service provider Microsoft on an encrypted server.

When you apply to us for finance, we will pass on your details securely to our funding partners who as well as us, will check the following records about you and your business;

·         Our/their own

·         Personal and business records at credit reference agencies (CRAs). When CRAs receive a search from us/them they will place a search footprint on your credit file that may be seen by other lenders. They supply to them both public (including the electoral register) and shared credit and fraud prevention information.

·         Those at fraud prevention agencies.

We/they will make checks such as; assessing the application for credit and verifying identities to prevent and detect crime and money laundering. We/they may also make periodic searches at CRAs and FPAs to manage your account with us/them.

How long we keep it We are required by law to keep basic personal data by regulatory and law enforcement bodies for varying lengths of time. Please contact us should you wish to receive more information on this.
What are your rights? If at any point you would like to see what information we hold about you or believe retained information is incorrect you can request to see this information and have it corrected. This is free of charge but we may make a charge for excessive requests. If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your data you can contact us by e-mailing office@eurolease-uk.com who will investigate this matter. Where we process your data based on ‘consent’ you have the right to withdraw consent at any time. If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are not processing data in accordance with the law you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) www.ico.org.uk .
